A little bit of information about puppy training and ultimate success in any trick, potty training, or command you would like your puppy to learn. The optimal age that a puppy has their greatest memory retention is from 10 weeks to 9 months old. Beagles learn with praise and lots of it, a Firm Low Tone (Name then NO!) showing them a Furrowed brow and a unpleasant face will show them that you do not like what they are doing. Then as they look away give them an appropiate thing to do and praise them with petting and a pleasant face establishing eye contact again. This will deepens the trust and bond with you. Eye contact is a MUST in training it gives them direction so they dont have to guess.

If you incorporate eye contact to your dogs training for attention lessions then he will always look up to your for guidance and perform excellent behavior. This type of bond will ultimately bring your relationship to a higher level. You will both learn how to read each
other's body language and emotions. She will learn to respect your leadership role in the relationship. Eye contact provides a deeper level of communication than can be achieved by training simply through commands and motions. People who have practiced eye contact have really seen an amazing intensity of focused attention in their dog.

How To Start

Use your dog's name as the initial attention getter to begin the dog training for attention exercise To make him look at you each time you call for her you can display a quick movement that will immediately draw her attention. Once she comes to your call you should present a treat you had hidden. Always keep treats randomly hidden throughout the house, where you have access to them, so your dog does not grow accustomed to only
following your command during the obvious "training time". Instead she will learn will obey every time and you will be promoting a higher level of focused attention in your dog.
